Locally grown hemp
All of our CBD is extracted from hemp grown right here in central Wisconsin.
Ethanol Extracted
Our process starts by mixing the hemp with -100F ethanol which is the same type of alcohol you drink. After a short soak the ethanol is separated from the spent hemp and is ready for pre-processing.
Filtration
At this point the ethanol contains the CBD but also a lot of hemp waxes and finely ground plant matter that needs to be removed. To do this we pass the ethanol through a series of filters all the way down to 1µm (that is just under 0.04 thousandths of an inch)
Ethanol recovery and decarboxylation
After filtration our next step is to recover the ethanol to be reused in the next extraction. Once that is done we put the oil through a process called decarboxylation. This is done by simply heating the CBD mixture up, causing it to give off carbon dioxide, and converting CBDA into CBD.
Purification
The final step in preparing the CBD is purification. We do this with multiple passes of distillation and end up with a clear, golden, oil.
Formulation
After the CBD has been purified with distillation we get it tested by a third part lab to verify the CBD, THC, and other cannabinoid content. The Full Spectrum CBD Distillate is then combines with carrior oils and natural flavors to make our high quality CBD oil drops.
